OUTSTANDING Vintage Wool Crazy Antique Quilt, SAWTOOTH BORDER 116 YEARS OLD! This ELEGANT cotton and wool crazy tied quilt is hand stitched with elaborate hand embroidered accents, a sawtooth border, the initials K. " in one piece and the date "1900 in another. Notice the colorful fan in the lower left hand corner, common in Victorian crazy quilts. It measures 62" X 64" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of tiny moth nibbles (the most obvious is shown in a photo in a pink piece), and no wear.
The back is a high-quality solid cotton green fabric, the front and back are sticked together at the edge ("knife edge") and the batting is thin-to-medium. The UNUSUAL SAWTOOTH BORDER, VIBRANT COLORS, and ELABORATE EMBROIDERY make this DATED vintage COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out -- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
