Art Deco Canton Manton de Manila Hand-embroidered Duck-egg Blue Silk Piano Shawl

  
The colours of the hand-embroidery are still vibrant with no fading at all, and exceptional really considering its age. The only aspects to note are that there are a very few broken threads to the embroidery and some tiny tiny marks, but not many at all, and nothing really for an item of this vintage. No tears or wear I can find at all.

The photos were mostly taken with a flash set-up which doesn't do justice to the incredible colours, but I wanted to illuminate the item sufficiently well to highlight any defects. The fringing looks a little dirty in some of the shots, but it's not. All in all, the shawl is in wonderful condition. The shawl measures 1.56m x 1.56m, and then on top of this the macramé is an additional 16cm all around the edges, and with the fringe combined with the macramé the border is an additional 45cm.
