Antique Vintage Clarks Anchor Cantilever Haberdashery thread box/shop display

  
A superb I believe to be oak cantilever box dating from the early to mid 20th Century, used as a countertop display in a Haberdashery shop to sell Clark's'Anchor' cotton. The box has three cantilevered sections and a hinged glazed lid. The front is inscribed in gilt'Clark's Anchor Stranded Cotton for Embroidery'. Each level is divided can be divided into different sized sections using the movable dividers, so very versatile. Opening is achieved through a cantilever mechanism.

Closed : 22" (53cm) wide x 6.5" (16.5cm) tall x 7 3/4 (19.5cm) deep. Open : 18 (46cm) tall x 10 (25.5cm) deep. It is in excellent condition for its age. The cantilever mechanism works smoothly and the inside of the drawers are clean and tidy. The wood has a nice aged patina with no major damage, apart, the glass is also undamaged.
