I love this antique quilt. The Blue and White is such a great combination giving this a great visual graphic impact. This quilt is collector quality with just a couple items mentionable. A couple small tan spots, (shown), a tiny binding repair. This quilt is in great condition, indigo and all fabrics excellent, rarely ever if at all used. Still faint pencil lines on the border, one faint gray smudge. Couple small tan marks (shown) probably from storage. Should all resolve if you care to wash it but minor and unnecessary. The border is just ever so slightly lighter than the ground. This large quilt is out of Pennsylvania. Believe it or not the antique indigo quilts are less common to find in Pennsylvania, so it's a bit more rare. Cable border typical of Pennsylvania quilts. All hand sewn in tiny stitches, even the piecing and binding, quite likely made by a Mennonite woman, although I don't have any history on the maker. Backing is all white and also has a couple small faint marks and very slight tanning at the fold lines. Two different small scale print indigo blues in this one. There is thin cotton batting.
