A wonderful Antique Applique Calico Print Basket Handmade Stitched Friendship quilt dating around the 1880's with some damage7 stitches per 1 inchLadies signed the various quilt "blocks" around baskets with their full names in copperplate ink denoting it a "Friendship Quilt"Baskets are calicoes, prints, stripes of the era 1880'sThe back side of the quilt is antique calico small arrows print cottonHand QuiltedLighter weight quilt with battingAn ecru fabric rod pocket was adhered to the upper back in present times to display the quilt & the red edging hand stitched is more recentPurchased recently here in Maine.

In Pre-Owned Antique Condition with some staining & some damage to the basketsSome fadingWater staining areas upper top edge, bottom edge, lower left corner, some other staining areas, spots, ink spots from signing on blockFraying basketsAbout 13 baskets are missing fabric, fraying, some go thru to the backing & batting esp appears on the lower bottom hem to the leftSome left side fading & vertical fading line area down the center due to being stored foldedA small hole in quiltTypical all over age yellowing front/backBack has some staining with 2 holesSomeone in present years attached a cloth rod pocket, so quilt could be displayed & also the red fabric edging is more recent/replaced, so quilt could have been cut down on edges...
