Antique English Penwork Sewing Box / Basket C. 1820 An absolutely charming Regency sewing box in the form of a basket with it's original bentwood folding swing handle. The domed top features a figural inspired by Adam Buck etching Mamma, Don't Make Me Beg in Vain, Please Read That Pretty Book Again , c1808. Indeed part of that motto remains to the interior Condition: Sorry no key.
The box remains in superb condition for its age , just a few nibbles to one of the knobs holding the handle, and a minor surface cracking to the lid. Size : 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 5" tall and 8 1/2" to top of handle.Wight before packing: 750g Regency in era, dating to around 1815 / 1820.
