Amazing PAIR Antique French Linen Dowry Sheets Richelieu Lace, Angel / Cherub - B812. Please scroll down for photo's, description & dimensions. This is a amazing PAIR of long antique French trousseau / dowry sheets dating from the 1800's. They are of superb quality and are all hand worked. They are divine as sheets but would also make a sublime pair of curtains.
The lowest edge of the sheets has a hand worked Richelieu lace border with roses and is trimmed with hand made lace. Above this is a gorgeous central cartouche with an angel / cherub playing a lyre. This is surrounded by a delightful garland with a central rose and flowers and leaves. The linen of the sheets is fabulous. It is a true antique white in colour.
The sheets have been laundered and are very crisp and fresh. There are one or two tiny marks remaining (see pics) but they do not detract. Each sheet measures 300 cm (9 ft 10 inches) long x 204 cm (6 ft 8.25 inches) wide. This gorgeous pair of sheets would make the ultimate wedding present, but would be even better to keep for one's self.
