There is quilting around the piecework (visible on the back) at 7-8 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is a double pink calico print, and the batting -- if any -- is very thin.
There is a wonderful Centennial conversation print in one block featuring a patriotic eagle and a handshake. Many of the strip pieces are "fussy cut, " where the maker centered the fabric pattern -- usually a flower or stripe -- in the narrow rectangle piece.
