Vintage 20's Holmes County Ohio AUTHENTIC AMISH Antique Quilt UNUSUAL PATTERN! This OUTSTANDING cotton 1910's-1920's Holmes County, Ohio Amish quilt is precisely treadle machine pieced and hand quilted, with a nice lilac/lavender color on a deep black background. The pattern is an unusual, complex one known as boxed T's. The quilt measures 74" X 76" and is in excellent condition, with no spots or wear.
There is quilting around and within the pieced pattern, and in grid, straight line, and cable designs in the background, all at an even 7-8 stitches to the inch, with faint pencil marks still visible in places. The back is a denim-y blue utilitarian fabric, the hand stitched binding is black, and the batting is thin. RARELY do you find black background Amish in such SUPERB CONDITION -- it's even more impressive in real life!
