Long yardage handmade Brussels bobbin lace applique on fine machine net. Scrolling tendrils and floral motifs. Pretty flower and leaf sprigs scattered over the background.
Pretty raised edges on motifs - fine fillings. Washed and clean, ivory / light ecru. Very good condition overall - a couple of very professional fine Victorian mends - see photos. Top tape engrelure is coming loose - can be whip stitched back in place. Top edge still sound and straight.
About 4 yards 10 in. Long, about 9 inches deep. See also our books including Secrets of Real Lace, on how to tell handmade from machine made laces, and Guide to Lace and Linens. See our other listings of books on antique lace, which are excellent study guides to identify and collect vintage lace.
