From Steve Kane Quilts and Folk Art. Made about 1920 in the Adirondack region of Northern New York State. Suitable for Double or Single sized beds: approx. 64 inches by 74 inches.Distinctive "Twig" furniture made for the camps of the rich and not-so-rich in the Adirondack Mountain region of New York State also inspired quiltmakers to mimic the rustic charm of unmilled lumber. This SNOWFLAKE Quilt has been pictured in a book of ADIRONDACK FURNITURE AND DESIGN. It's irregular shaped patches with distinctive triangular edging are also slightly different in color in some patches.
The CRANBERRY RED, OCHRE YELLOW, TAN "Snowflakes" on the WHITE Background produce a lively patterned quilt. The quilting can be seen in the detail photo. The SNOWFLAKE Quilt is shown on a single european daybed, but it is large enough for a double bed also. SUGGESTION FOR A MAKE BELIEVE BEDROOM: Combine this SNOWFLAKE with the Canadian Amish BASKETS Quilt with colors of Wine Burgundy and Yellow (also available in the Store) for an all-season bespoke bedroom.
