Excellent condition antique 1920s original Mariano Fortuny fabric panel in the Sevres pattern in indigo and silvery gold taupe. The hidden verso is deep indigo. Lined with beige cotton, and two patterned edges with a typical edging pattern, the intact selvedge hidden underneath and inside reveals the Fortuny signature stamp from 1918 onward in red ink, see photos. Acquired from an exclusive and special estate.Weathered more in some areas than others in terms of stenciling, however the fabric is very strong, and the variant colors breathtaking! No stains or holes, just natural variations in color and density due to use wear of the stenciled areas.
Small portion of seam left loose in order to access selvedge for positive identification, see photos for documentation of this slightly open seam. Measures: 28 x 56, but would be a bit larger in width and length if the beige backing was removed. Not currently ready with loops to hang on a dowel, but it would be very easy to open it up and fit it between the liner with a dowel.
