A Late 16th early 17th Century Italian Embroidered Velvet Altar Cloth. The burgundy colour velvet appliqued with four stump work urns of cascading lilies. Embroidered in metallic thread and divided by panels of scrolling foliage with undulating garlands running around the borders. The bottom edge with fringing. The side edge trims removed at some time in the past.Antique condition with appropriate signs of wear commensurate with a textiles that is over Four Hundred Years Old. Antique patina to metal threads.
