Antique, because the body of the quilt (the red and white part) is old, and vintage, because the outer edge, backing, and quilting were done at a later time. The former owner said that the quilt top had been made by her grandmother, and then finished by her (the granddaughter). She also told me that the quilt had never been used.I don't know that pattern name. The red chambray squares measure 1-1/2 square in size. It ishand-quilted and the quilting stitches are even and well executed. The quilt has a 4-1/2 white border, is edged with white , and has white backing. The white color is cream and not a stark white.
There are some yellow stains and discoloration on the quilt - they look like slightly rusty-colored water stains, and no attempt to remove them has been made. No holes, tears, or loose stitching - the only issues are the stains. The item "Antique Vintage QUILT, RED & WHITE, Hand-Quilted, Postage Stamp Squares, 76x94" is in sale since Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
