Antique French Indienne printed cotton 19th hand block printed BORDER
This fabulous border had the inside curtain removed I wonder what wonderful textile was there!! A very rare print seeped in history! Indiennes are French interpretations of Indian hand-painted cottons which were introduced to Europe by the East India trading company in the 17th century. This fabric was printed using hand carved wooden blocks and uses the most stunning colors! They include : off-white ground tea toned, warm and aged. Teal, purple, pink, Raspberry red, dusty blue. This fabric is a medium weight woven cotton, plain weave. Ideal for design inspiration , pillows, light upholstery etc. One of the very best! MEASUREMENTS: This piece measures : 34 inches wide and each side border is 70 inches long the border is approx. CONDITION : This lovely panel is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. There are some pale blue marks and heavy storage marks especially on the bottom left side.
